Compressed files always give bad CRC check

This happens using Winrar or even Winzip, with .rar files or .zip files. I get a bad crc check but when i restart and try to do it uncompress the file again it works. It's a pain having to restart each time i want to make uncompress a file. this usaully happens after the system is up for a few hours. It always only takes one restart to get it to work but i don't notice it sometimes for a few days since i'm not uncompressing files all the time. the system runs fine and i don't have anyother problems. Any ideas?

Its odd that both programs would act the same. I guess you have tried re-installing them as well? Perhaps there is not enough resources to go around or another program is hogging memory causing the problem. Winzip and Winrar are very popular tools although I have never cared for them. I have used Iceows for a long time and find it extremely stable and easy to use(and free). There are some other fine alternates as well such as Power Archiver, Filzip, and Simply Zip. Another one I have not tried but has many features is Zip Genius - it will handle 20 or so different formats.

Yeah maybe some program is causing a memory leak or i was thinking maybe my HDD controler chip or something. i guess i'll just have to reinstall windows and see if maybe that'll help. I hate doing that

After some more research i could that it was a problem with the firmware on my motherboard MSI (6712). I upgraded and everything is cool now.
