Replacing Icons

Hey I have XP sp2 and i was just wondering if it is possible, and if so how you would go about changing the icons for a specific program that showup in the taskbar, not necessarily quicklaunch or system tray or in upper left corner of windows but that would be a good bonus for future reference. But also in the ALT-TAB program select Tool.

Nope. Try it. If it doesn't work for you, there's something amiss with your system.

Where should i right click? i know right clicking on a shortcut will allow you to change the icon, even for folders in My computer. But for exe files, for the icons inside the bars where programs minimize to in the taskbar and for the icons that showup when you hit Alt-Tab I can't see where to right click in order to change these.

I have a feeling that the only way to achieve this would be to go into the file that has the icons for this program and replace the icon currently used with the icon i want to use and give the same "filename". Is there maybe a way to tell the program to search a different location for that icon? The icons for the program i want to use are different for the taskbar and for the Alt-Tab window.

I just notice the current icon in use by the taskbar is found in the exe of the program itself while the Alt-Tab icon is just that generic icon, the white square with a blue frame, i think the program didn't plan for making or assigning Alt-Tab icons. So somewhere there's directions for where to get the icon for these specific applications.
