Problems Reinstalling Windows XP
Hey Guys,
So I want to start my computer off from a clean slate by reinstalling a fresh copy of Windows XP. But here's my problem...
My computer won't let me boot from the Windows XP boot CD when I initially startup my computer, it says "Press any key to boot from CD" which I do but nothing happens - it doesn't seem to respond to me pressing any key.
I've also placed the settings in BIOS for the CD-ROM drive to boot first but to no avail.
I have additionally tried reinstalling windows by going straight into the CD via the CD-ROM drive (From My Computer) but all it seems to do is overwrite my old copy of windows.. for example, my desktop will look nice and empty but when I go into 'Progam Files' I have all the old programs from my 'older' installation of Windows XP.
This is pretty frustrating, all I want to do is be able to press any key when windows starts-up to be able to start off fresh.
Any help will be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance.
