Computer freezes while running java applets

Every time I play a game at Yahoo.com (which uses Java applets) my computer will just freeze up. Sometimes it will even start making a buzzing sound. I then have to hit the reset button.

Is this a problem with Java and how can I fix this? I have the latest JRE from Sun, too.

It never freezes unless I'm playing a game in a java applet.

Is it just games ? or all Java ?

That happens for everyone.

Java Applet is some old technology and keeps crashing the browser. Now days very few sites use Java Applet, Flash is better.
