Cannot send emails, but can receive

Hi, I have just installed Outook Express 6.0 from my ISP Broadband installation CD onto my XP system. Outlook Express connects to ISP (Freeserve) ok and it receives emails. When I try to send emails I get the followin msg:
An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'bbb', Account: 'pop.freeserve.com', Server: 'smtp.freeserve.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

I have spent a lot of time checking all the account and options definitions but can't find anything wrong. Also I can't find a way of uninstalling Outlook, it doesn't show in the inst/uninst list and there is no unist program, not even on the cd. I have it working fine on my old W2000 system, and as far as I can see all the definitions are the same. The error msg number does not appear in the microsoft database.

Has anyone seen this before or can you suggest anything.

try sending to yourself - if you get it back from your ISP server, there is nothing wrong with your computer...

Send a message via MSN to snowmonkey
I have see that dozen of time,,, you are trying to use none SSL port and your server requires you to login through secure port (993),, so just change the SMTP port to secure

cheers
