i downloaded this "BIOS Update P25 [BF86510A.86A] "from the site you gave me but in my device manager, there is still a yellow question mark and exclaimation next to ethernet controller.

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

oops sorry...i forgot to run the network adaptors but now everything is fine...i can finally connect to the internet all thanks to you!! thx so much Barbara!!!!!
