I Need Sound-Multimedia Audio Controller Problems here

I dont have any sound coming from my computer. I posted a thread earlier, but I must have left out some more computer info that would be more helpful. I have a emachines model T3406 computer (used computer, everything else seems to work fine). The Multimedia Audio Controller seems to not be installed. What do I do to fix this?? Also where do I find the motherboard info and all the other information that everyone else seems to know but me. Sorry but new to this... Could someone please reply??
