outlook express

i have xp pro and the lastest outlook express
i have 2 problems
1 st one is when i go into express sometimes msn messenger fires up and i have it set to not come on, both in messenger and outlook express. PLZ HELP

2nd is when i exit outlook express, sometimes it will leave a file on my desktop called: ~ . I looked in the file and it looks like a part of a data base for my address book. i looked at my address book and everything is ok there. seems that express is saving the data base of my address book to the desktop. very annoying and it only happens about twice a week. (UPDATE) I found out that when msn fires up and i close it, it sometimes leaves a contact in my address book from my msn address. So when changes are made to my express address book, that is when the ~ file is created on my desktop. PLZ HELP

1. To solve the MSN Messenger firing up, the easiest solution I have found is simply to rename the Messenger folder in C:\Program Files. Not that it matters but I renamed my folder to MessengerOld. This effectively stops windows calling it up at will.

2. Hopeully one will solve two. :-)

I found the solution.
I had to remove windows XP msn 4.7
which was a little tuff since it comes with XP
and I installed msn 5.0 for XP.
now i am at peace with the world again.
