Unhappy not a valid win 32 app

Greetings wise one's..............I think i have a big problem
I cant pin point the exact time, but i just noticed my virus scan was gone!(avg free) tried to re install, but got the title msg.
Took it out and downloaded Avst.....same thing

When i look deeper into my system, it seems my firewall (windows) is not working, i cant do a system restore and windows update fails to "update" anything to do with security.............everything else is fine...........but i feel kind of naked and really want to vomit
Im no expert, and dont want to touch things i dont know about........just tell me straight......is it bad?
Any help would be great, thanks for your time.

Regards

Marty

What I would do is run a online anti-virus scan http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
There are many to choose from.

i guess you caught some f...ing malware online dude, i suggest SuperAntiSpywar (which has a nice feature of re-enabling processes damaged by malware), than download Spybot S&D, i am pretty sure your pc got infected, update them, run the scans offline in Safe Mode ( tap F8 on startup). remove enything they'll find, reboot normally and download Avast and reinstall it again. report back
