i set my computer into a power saving mode when not in use. my manager asked me what are the advantages and the disadvantages when turning it on.

they said one disadvantage is when we forget to shot it down, it will still eat electricity.

does it really eating the electricity when not shut down but it is in its power saving mode?

How this ? It will use electricity even if its turn off . I mean if its plug into the socket ? Electricity is being used . Infact they say anything thats plug in to the socket wether its on or off is using electricity . If you don't really want to use electricity? Unplug it from the wall socket . This is what I heard .
