Prevent file from being deleted

Hi there. I got a folder shared by workers in office. The shared folder contains an excel file which can be read and written by workers who can access to this file in my computer via intra network. Can this excel file be set to avoid being deleted or copies? I'm using windows xp.

Cheers.

Thumbs up

You can set permissions to avoid the excel being deleted on a server (if you have one that connects to the worker's computers). Right click the file and select Properties, select Security tab and add the workers names to the list in the window you wish give them permissions. Either Full Control (not the best one), read or write.

Another option is to password protect the excel sheet.
