Mouse control software

Hey i recently bought a Trust media mouse, it has a number of buttons which control WMC , play pause, next , previous etc, these functions are already programmed with the mouse, simply plug and play.
I have logitechs setpoint software, this software picks up a HP mouse i have is there any reason that the new Trust mouse is not being picked up by setpoint?
any ideas?

Logitech soft ware is designed to work with Logitech hardware so your new mouse came with a cd, uninstall the logitech software and use the software that came with the Trust mouse.

thats right, but the cd that came with the trust mouse does not have any software that allows me to map controls for different buttons, i think its just the driver for the mouse, which has button operation already programmed in i.e. play , next track etc.
any ideas why logitech software works with a hp mouse ?
