Clarify please. You have 2 hard drives C and D and you have XP installed on C? Did you reformat with your XP cd and now XP will not install?

You have to go first to the BIOS and set your cd drive as your first boot device , then save your settings, restart and follow the instruccions.

But may be you can fix your problem just by Repair your XP instalation using that feature usin the XP Cd Rom.

DO NOT be taking your computer to a specialist who will charge you through the roof for something thast you CAN do yourself with some advice.

please do what Beeboy asked and explain your problem better, this place will give you the help you need without throwing money away on specialists who will charge you loads of £££££ for something that is so straight forward and easy to do.

everything seems hard at first if you don't know then it is hard it is the same for us all, but once you learn how to do this you will realize what a waste of money it would of been going to a shop with your computer.

Some bioses let you choose the boot device on the fly by hitting F8 during the POST. You should only reformat your hard disk as a LAST RESORT! Usually, Windows problems can be fixed without resorting to this. I use a program called Norton Ghost to make an image of my Windows drive. If Windows crashes, I just go into DOS and restore everything. I LOOOOOVE GHOST!

BTW, I'm a computer tech and my minimum is 20 dollars an hour. Don't pay big money just to have your bios changed.
