No error messages when Windows comes back up?
If none, well same happens to me but only very occasionally so I just live with it since there's no clues to use as a starting point.
You might want to check your device drivers are all up to date though, although Windows should give you an error message if it was a driver problem -- but there's always a first time for everything. Could be a driver issue even with no error.
Something like this with nowhere to start (no clues) means you just have to cover all the things it might be -- everything & anything. I just haven't bothered for myself because, as I said, it only happens occasionally and it is a 6 year old PC when all said and done -- the odd 'glitch' is only to be expected. Just be thankful (as I am) that Windows re-starts okay again. The time to worry is when it doesn't!
