win/xp will not allow to delete files etc..

I know there is someone out there who has had the same problem I am having!!!!!

WinXp will not let me delete temp internet files,pics,songs, empty recyle bin,or remove programs!!! I get a pop up screen that says "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, sorry for the inconveniance!!
