~~ Need help with JAVA, PLEASE! ~~

Hey,
Firstly thanx for checking this thread
Secondly my problem:
I am running Windows XP Pro and It's been working fine.
But all of a sudden Yahoo! Pool stopped working. It wouldn't load.
All other Java games worked apart from that.
Slowly a few other games stopped working, so I downloaded the JAVA from the SUN website.
I was nearing the end of installation when it froze, the blue bar wasn't moving and the installation ended prematurely.
Ever since then I have not been able t REMOVE the Sun Java OR re-install it.
No type of JAVA is displayed on my Internet Explorer 6 no matter what I do.
I've asked Microsoft AND Yahoo! for support but they were no help.

Could someone please tell me how I can restore my JAVA on my machine?
Would I have to re-isntall Windows XP again?

Microsoft Java Virtual Machine is no longer available from Microsoft directly due to legal wrangling with SUN...

Go to "Add or remove programs" and remove Sun Java.

But i've tried Un-Installing it but it just doesn't seem to go. And I've also downloaded the Virtual Machine which also didn't seem to have any effect.
