RAID Problem / where is it comming from.

I installed SP3 the other day and it wiped out my computer. Could not get into Windows. Had to do a Repair Install. Finally got it fixed.

Now in Device Manager, I have a Yellow question mark by Raid Controllers.
I have no Raid setup. I have checked everything in the BIOS and disabled anything relating to RAID. Any ideas whare this might be comming from?
Could the Repair have wiped out my chipset drivers?

ASUS A8V-Deluxe mobo

I think the RAID controller are the two SATA that you have on your motherboard....just go to ASUS site and find the right driver and install it.......I would have search for the driver but I'm confused if your motherboard is a "ASUS A8V-Deluxe" or "Asus A8N-SLI"

Cheers

Motherboard is ASUS A8V-Deluxe.

I'm trying to turn off the raid controllers. Why would I want to install drivers for them?

As it is, board has a "Primary Raid" and the 4 SATA ports. 2 marked SATA,raid2 and SATA raid1. (from the mobo manual) I am not using any of these.

Thanks for helping.

I have the Asus A8N SLi Premium board, also have the same yellow marks next to raid, and like you not using raid. Don't worry they are not a problem, unlike Intel where you have to install Raid before OS, AMD does not need Raid to be installed first. They do not affect performance.

The A8N-SLI in my sig is my sons computer. I myself have a A8N-SLI Deluxe in my computer. Those boards are not a problem. I have found the right setting in the BIOS to turn off the RAID controllers for them.

The A8V-Deluxe is the problem. It does not have the same settings as the A8N boards and I cannot figure out where its coming from.

Not a problem? I also keep getting "new hardware found" wizard popping up everytime I turn on the computer. Its a pain cancelling setup all the time.
