Bad File? (Colbie Caillat - Coco (2007).jpg.)

After closing explorer I found this file on my desktop: Colbie Caillat - "Coco (2007).jpg." .

I don't know where it came from. I can't delete it. Error message when trying to delete it says "can't read drive, or in use by another program".

CA antivirus says it is clear. Spyware scanner doesn't recognise it as a threat.

"Wiping" software will not remove it. I can't even rename it. I shut down my wireless network connection and tried to open it with explorer, and it tried to open my home page repeatedly in about 75 new windows per minute until I shut it down with task manager.

System restore does not make it go away.

The file properties window says it is a zero lenth file, and not protected or restricted. I just want it gone.

This thing is scaring the crap out of me.

Any suggestions?

What 'wiping' software??

Try the following. If you experience any further issues, it may well be malware, then post back: -

KillBox

Send a message via MSN to snowmonkey
download the free software called "unlocker'....with this software you can delete any file you want (first it will kill the process that holds the file and then deletes it)

Cheers
