xp won't detect new hardware

I'm trying to install dlink wireless networking on a thrid pc and xp won't find the network adapter. My other pc's went just fine but this one won't find the card even when I run new hardware wizard. I have tried different drivers and different pci slots, still nothing. This is a new system with only xp on it. Any ideas?

Have you tried slaving the card into one of the other machines?

If it works in another machine it could be a bad M/B.

If it doesn't work get it replaced and try the new card in one of the known good machines before fitting to the problem machine.

Thanks for the reply, I tried it in a working machine and it could not find the card. Must be a bad card. Guess I'll quit using ebay. Not the first bad item from them.
