Video / Graphics Problems

Hi, I got this game, Hitman 2 and when I run it on my desktop machine which has Windows XP Professional with 256 MB RAM and 16MB Graphics.. works great if I reduce the graphics in the game setting up.

Now when I run it on my Laptop that has Windows XP Home Edition with 32 MB RAM.. whenever a cutscene or a video comes along in the game... at some point.. the machine reboots automatically...

How can I fix that problem?

Is that 32 MB System RAM or Graphics RAM?

32 MB is very very low for System RAM on any sort of NT Machine.

Are you using the same game settings on the 2 machines?

Have you installed any patches for the game on one machine but not the other?

If possible can you try the game on another machine with a comparable spec to the laptop?

By design laptops are not great games machines because of heat dissipation problems.

When a game goes into complex 3d / video work the gaphics card is working at max power which equates to high temperature, this is very probably the root cause of your problem.

i have same settings on both the desktop and the laptop.. unfortunately i cant try it on another machine as i dont own any more.. so i guess i will have to play it on the desktop machine rather than the laptop according to your explanation of heat etc..

Thanks anyways
