This is the link to the driver for the sound card http://download.aopen.com.tw/default.aspx select category Sound Card / Cobra AW840
check Devise Manager to see if anything highlighted in yellow, also look at this
Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Properties/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be they something like "modem line 0 playback" might have been substituted for the proper audio device.
Hope this helps

Check this out
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic.
have you 2 sets of radio jacks, one near top of tower on I/O plate, where keyboard and mouse sockets are and one lower down the tower in an expansion slot.
Cheers

The motherboard has onboard sound and you say a sound card is installed, this would mean that you should have 2 sets of radio jacks. Can you get Belarc http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
copy and paste the report Not the Software Section, then I can see just what is and isn't installed.
Cheers

Need more info on your system,Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
