Go here: http://support.gateway.com/support/d...&param=3501609

I would grab any downloads that apply to you and install them, save for next time. Your device manager will tell you what they are.
You definately want this file: 9524569 The XP chipset driver. Install first. Reboot.

Sound , video etc are at the bottom.

I mean in device manager. That's where all the action is.
Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device manager. Any yellows showing?
If not, click the "plus" next to audio game controllers. What's there?

Right, my advice is to go back to the support site http://support.gateway.com/support/d...&param=3501609
Let the update at the upper right "scan your PC" and get what it offers you.

"Select the desired source for updated drivers:"
Are there no sites or links shown. I expect you choose a download site.
