XP Welcom Screen disappeared

The other day when I was switching from my xp logon to my wifes it asked for a password although none of us have ever had them. I looked around on the internet a bit and found - control userpasswords2. I ran control userpasswords2 and unchecked the 'user must enter a username and password to use this computer. The use the welcome checkbox and use fast switching are checked. Now when I boot up it goes straight into my user. If I select log off and switch user I see my wife user, my sons and mine. How can I get the welcome screen back on startup? Should I run the ran control userpasswords2 and unchecked the 'user must enter a username and password to use this computer but not enter any passwords? - thx

Control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on and off.

control userpasswords2? Is your system up to date?
