Aspire 3003LCi No sound
I have an Aspire 3003LCi with a Realtek AC97, version 5.35. It says everything is working but I have no volume control, I have uninstalled the driver and restarted it. I also used the recover disk to try to make it work. I have gone to Acer for updates, yet still no sound. Any ideas, Thank you so much. johnny

Go to control panel/sounds and audio devices. "Place volume icon in the task bar" may be unticked.

This link will give you the driver downloads, including audio.
Try them out: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...e_3000/driver/

check this out
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.

Adminisrtation tools? Componant services?
Bookworm,
I have been praying you would give me advice. Problem is, I go to control panel, hit the tools bar at the top of the browser as there is no admin. tools option in my control panel. Gosh I am so lost with this thing. Any ideas for me? If not thank you so much for trying. My sound driver says it is working and it is signed.

Ego plays no part, johnnysaygo. You have stated a preference. I will honour it.

try installing this way, load the recovery disc. then close the program
go to Device Manager
Go to My Computer / right click / Properties / Hardware Tab / Device Manager
Logon as Administrator
Right click My Computer – choose Properties
Choose hardware Tab – click Device Manager
Expand Sound ,video and game controllers
Right click audio driver – Realtek, Creative etc
Choose Update driver
The Hardware Update Wizard appears
Windows Update – click No, not this time
Click Next
Install the software automatically (Recommended)
Click Next
