Access denied to one hard disk from other PC with Windows XP

One of my PC_A breakdown and I put the hard disk (HD_A) into another PC_B and try to retrieve the photo folder from HD_A.

Got "Access Denied" to folders of PC_A profile no matter using USB cable to attached the had disk as an external device or attached directly as the 2nd IDE.

Can any one help and advise me how to retrieve my photos?
