Question Upgrading from Win 2000 to XP Pro?

I find I'm so used to working with XP Pro and, to a lesser extent, Home that the differences between them and Win 2000 are a bit of a pain. I especially like the System Restore option in XP. I use this all the time and have created an icon on my Desktop to make it even easier.

My six questions are; Is it worth upgrading Win 2000 to XP Pro?

The expense of buying XP Pro isn't a factor so don't take that into account. A knowledgeable friend of mine says that Win 2000 is definitely more stable. Is this true? Surely the coding is basically the same at the core?

Is there a way to carry out the System Restore function in Win 2000?

Is USB2 supported in Win 2000 after downloading the avaialble Win Updates?

If I was to upgrade is it the same path as when upgrading from ME or 98SE?

Thanks as always

I have found that after Sp1 and a lot of the other hotfixes sent out XP has become quite stable.

I recently upgraded my home PC to XP Pro ( from 2k Pro ) and really have no issues at all. I'm quite pleased how easy it went ( minus the one problem where there was an autorun.inf located a C:\ that was causing some odd behavior, but that was another post of mine )

6 months ago I would have said XP is way unstable, today I have found it to be just as reliable as 2k, so much that even I upgraded.

Take that for what it's worth.

Thanks. What about Restore Points?

I think what I have is Win 2000 since I see no mention of Win 2000 Pro, is that difference clearly marked? If so, where?

Can you answer my queston on Restore Points?

Right Click on My Computer and go to Properties. It will say if you have Pro or not.

As far as I know, 2k doesn't have a way to do restore points, but also know that I never really looked into that much either.
