Angry Repairing and reinstalling windows xp HELP!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

I originally had an error with \windows\system32\config\system being corrupt or missing, so i put in my xp installation disc and tried to repair it.

On the Recovery console i entered 1, which i believe is correct as i only have the one option (1: C:\WINDOWS). Too which i got a blue screen saying BAD_POOL_CALLER with error code 0x000000c2.

I then tried to completely reinstall windows xp and received the exact same message!!!

Please can some help me!!!!!

You don't use the recovery console to do a full repair. Console requires knowledge of windows command line.

Instead:

I found from SP2 launch that this isn't guarenteed to work. In any case, you should shut down for a minute or so before you try. Just in case.

Wink

if you have a pukka copy of windows then try cleaning disc first, then install in normal manner and delete previous partiton.Do not use repair console ,good to be radical, not always practical though. (:^D)
When it gets to partitioning screen press d to delete and L to confirm I believe, its been a while since I played with windows.
It is always recommended to have full charge in battery and plug adapter when installing on laptop.good luck.
