xp restoring help

Okay my laptop is full of pointless programs and apps which have completely slowed it down.

I know installing a ton of stuff on a laptop is stupid but i didnt have a desktop at the time.

The laptop is a fair few year old and sadly ive lost all of my original discs including the restore disc...

i havnt set any restore points and i was wondering if there is anyway to wipe the laptop and have the original xp install again.

Cheers
Henson

No. Best you can do is remove all apps, preferably with something like "your uninstaller", but windows uninstall will do.
Use "jv16 powertools" or something to remove lost files and folders and clean the registry.
"Crapcleaner" is a free tool that can remove a wad of stuff.
Use your own eyes to remove folders you know are no longer in use.

There is more you can do, since not all files will be removed, but it depends on your level of knowledge. Return to original install is not possible.

Once you are satisfied you have cleaned all you can, a thorough defrag will work wonders.
