No Sound on Dell Inspiron 1521
Basically, brother bought a Dell, had them install Vista on it, turns out he didn't like it, and so I put a copy of XP on it. Except all the drivers that came on discs for the computer obviously aren't working on the new OS. So, I've hunted around and managed to find some drivers to get the video card (Radeon Xpress 1250) and internet working but the sound is a no go. I've tried a number of different driver/utility detection programs (driver magician, everest to name a couple) but they always come up empty when trying to figure out how the computer should be producing sound. I've even been to the Dell site and downloaded all the recommended drivers for the laptop.
I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to comp. tech, but I can follow instructions real well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
