video problem

The problem i have is that the video files that i played is all distorted. The graphic is sometimes fine and sometimes all all mess up. It didn't use to do this and it's all type of file. ex. rm, avi. mpg etc. I know it isn't the file because the file plays just fine on my other computer. Also, when the screen is black or suppose to be, there will be red pixels all over the place instead of a black screen.

anyone encounter this problem before and know how to fix it?
