My sound Is not working.. Please help

My computer is my dads work computer and my computer as well. So it has A LOT of files on it. It got a virus and we used a program called malwarebyte's anti malware and it delete some of our files along with our sound.

I mean I have tried EVERYTHING and cannot get it back. My computer does not read any type of sound hardware at all in it. I did try to download the driver but I might not have done it right, since it did not work.

Please help

Sorry I forgot to add that I am using a Windows XP, not that you didn't know that but thought I'd put it anyway
