System Configuration Utility
I'm running XP Pro on a Dell laptop. I used the system configuration utility to uncheck three programs that were running at startup: Kazaa Media Desktop, an ad for AOL 7.0 and MS Messenger, which I never use. When I rebooted, I got this message:
"You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the ways Windows starts. The System Configuration Utility is currently in diagnostic or selective startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run everytime Windows starts. Choose the Normal Startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility."
There's a box to check allowing the option of not starting the utility.
I thought it was normal to use this utility to change the startup menu. Does anyone know what's going on here?
