No sound at all, this is a complicated one!!

Hello all!!

Ok... I have no sound at all. I have a sound blaster audigy mp3+ sound card.

It started to be a bit tempermental about a month ago. The only reason i can think of is that I downloaded a video codec pack (which seems to be working fine) other than this, nothing has changed (to my knowledge)
I have reinstalled my cards drivers numerous times and nothing works. Its definatley the correct driver as it's off the original cd. I have also tried the one from creatives website.
I have read forum after forum and the main reason seems to be the multimedia sound controller. So after looking at my sound devices my audio controller has a big fat question mark too! I searched for my board and found the correct driver (realtek one) and installed it... Still no sound. I did a system reset to mid may... still no sound. tried just using the onboard sound card (which i have no idea whether it works or not) still no sound.
I have tried numerous ports on the sound card.
What confuses me though is that the blue LED that flashes when there is audio flashes at the right time as if it were working.
Attached is a copy of my balarc report

check these out,

Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if
the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

What model is your Medion, look for label that shows the Serial Number S/N or Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.
