ThorCommWndClass

Outlook has stopped sending and receiving mail. At shut down of the computer an error msg tells me that , "ThorCommWndClass program not shutting down".

What is ThorCommWndClass? is it related to outlook not sending/recieving, the 2 issues started on the same day. Before these two issues norton antivirus had turned itself off and was not automatically starting at start up.

Hi have googled and been onto microsoft about the above ThorCommWndClass and nothing comes up on google, microsoft said it could be something to do with nortons having been corrupted by a virus or trogan. that is why nortons is also shutting itself down.

Go to nortons site and see what they come up with or completely uninstall nortons every trace of it including the Symantec refer then down load a free antivirus from the web, there are loads out there but one i use is Avast has good back up and a good forum.

Smile Corrupt PST in Outlook

I have found that this problem crops up in my Outlook 97 at least once a year. It is due to a corrupt PST file in Outlook. An early sign of this corruption seems to be when your mailbox starts duplicating and triplicating messages as is does not signal to your provider that you have already downloaded these messages.
The best fix I have found is to go into Outlook menu Tools...services...
Then look at the path and filename of the pst that is in the properties of Personal folders(*) and then remove the folder by pressing remove. Add another Personal folder and quit Outlook. You may have to create a new shortcut if you old shortcut was referencing your emailbox account. Upon entry you will be faced with an empty mailbox. Again check that in Tools...Services..the email and delivery options are set correctly for your service provider. Send an email from another account and check that it can be picked up by doing an F5 (check for new mail).
If mail message is received the next step is to pull back all your old message from the previous pst file. Do this by doing File..Import...select import from a pst file and then point to the path you recorded at *. Select which part of your folder you want to recover and then proceed.
Good Luck
