My computer is having difficulties after installing a driver

i tried to update my display adaptor today on my windows xp proffesional so i went onto the internet and downloaded an installer which installed something which i didnt really pay attention to. then it told me for the driver to work i had to restart the computer so i restarted the computer but it took half an hour for the os system to boot and when it did i tried to go to system restore but when i opened up start to my programs, there were no files there. so i went onto my computer and there were no files in the C drive. I also tried to go to the control panel but when it was "searching for items", the screen turned blue and said the following message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal system Error}
The windows Subsystem system process terminated unexpectedly with the satus of 0xc0000006 (0x7c921a9d 0x0055f1c4).
The system has been shut down
i tried all the buttons but there were no response so i had no choice but to shut down my computer.
Right now i have restarted my computer and am waiting for the os to boot. pls help me because this computer is very important to me.
i have tried to start in safe mode but the script fuzzes and the computer freezes

First where and waht did you download? Any idea at all? if not, try this.
Can you boot into safe mode? Pree the f8 key on startup. Then right click on my computer> properties>device manager>display adapters>double click on the video card>go to driver>then select roll back driver.
