Slow PC

Hi Everyone,
My PC at the moment is very slow, I dont want to reinstall windows because I would lose a lot of files I have been collecting.
I have deleted the SP1 hot fix patch (Q811493) that has been talked about on this forum but to no avail. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

AMD 1700XP +
512 MB RAM (2100 DDR)
Geforce mx2 400
Jetway V266A motherboard
30GB HD
SMC 1255TX 10/100 ethernet card
And Windows XP PRO (With Service pack 1)

it is ahrd to guess, what is slow your bootup time the switch off time or the time it takes to do things when using xp?

you should do a google search and read what others say who have had the same problem
