Modem issues....

Hi everyone...

Just installed windows xp on my pc. However, after installing service pack1, i get low dialup connection speeds as compared to before installing the service pack....

any ideas???

Have you checked you have the latest drivers for your modem? I can't think that SP1 would alter connection speeds but then i have no real idea of whats in it. Try downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.

what modem, and what kind of speeds are we talking about? was it a big drop, or rather minute? Microsoft does like to try installing "their versions" of drivers. It is possible that you got the old switcheroo.
