partitions on xp removal

hi all, i have a desk top with 3 partitions on it, can any one tell me how to remove 2 leaving just c drive without loosing software data etc, i have already backed up stuff to an external hd, thanks in advance for any help.

hi snowmonkey n thanks, before i go ahead can you tell me what are the advantages of having a hd split into 3 (c d and e)partitions, it was like this when i got it and how would you use them,never understood all this... time to get to grips with it all, cheers.
