Internet on windows xp proffesional sp2

hello!
I have a problem with windows xp pro sp2. Yesterday I had a virus or viruses I scanned and deleted those viruses with AVG anti-virus 8.0 and that was okay. I restarted computer and tried to go in to internet, but there was problems with internet. In some web pages I was able to go in. But in some other pages I cant go in. I can go in google.com but I cant search anything with it. And other pages just aren't loading.
I tried a program that fixes files or does something with those files.
Please help me. I don't want to re-install windows.

Well, i dont completely understand the problem, because the virus could have infected any number of files. You probably should install your browser or return to a system restore point before you got the virus.

There could also be spyware on the PC. Download Ad-aware (from link below), install it and do a FULL system scan and see if that will pick up anything and delete them.

And when I was scanning for spyware then my anti-virus picket up a lot of trojans. They where about 10 of them or more. And I deleted those troja's and spywares, but still internet is acting strange.

Do a few more scans of the PC so that it may find other viruses it missed. I would also upgrade XP to Service Pack 3 for the latest fixes and updates. You can find this on the Windows Update site.

Now I scanned 3 times and nothing found and no trojans..
Internet is still now working.
What happens when internet settings is messed up?


I will still try to search google for help or call my internet service for.
But if someone knows whats the problem then just help me.

EDIT:
I found this http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html that has the cure to my problem and it was here in the forums, I tried it and still nothing happens.
