Access Denied to My Docs on 2nd HD
Hello, hope someone can help me.
I had XP Pro installed and kept all my important stuff in my main my documents dir.
Somehow I managed to fry my MBR and XP wouldn't boot, I tried doing a fixmbr and it said found and fixed errors, but still wouldn't boot. So I installed XP Home on a 2nd HD (My pro cd wouldn't boot from cd, and I didn't have a boot disk handy)
I did not install as dual boot, I simply removed the Pro HD and did a clean install, then hooked the pro hd back up as slave.
I'm trying to backup my files from the Pro HD but it tells me access denied. I tried logging in as Admin under safe mode, same thing. So I went into the recovery console and did an AllowAllPaths and was able to access the directory, however, I cannot figure out how to move multiple files over to the good HD. I tried doing AllowWildCards and copy the directory's, but it says copy does not support it. Is there any way to move these entire directories from the console? Or does anyone know a way that I can gain access to the files inside windows so I can just drag and drop? Because I have somewhere around 600-700 files I need to move and obviously that's not an option file by file.
Any info on how to move these files would be appreciated, or if someone knows how I can fix the mbr so I can boot off the Pro install.
Thanks
