DVD//CD Drive Not read/found

I use XP Media Center Edition on an Acer T180 with AVG. This morning I was prompted to install new Microsoft updates, by the Restart now or later menu, and afterwards was unable to view my DVD//CD player in any way besides physically. It has become entirely unresponsive to me pressing the button and doesn't show up in my Devices menu from the My Computer screen anymore.

I haven't found any other problems, yet, and I don't know what's causing this. If you need more information about my setup let me know.

I'm baffled by this and any information is more than appreciated.

First try a System Restore to before you installed the updates, if that does not help go here to Acer and install the Chipset driver
