Exclamation Updating Window Home to Windows XP i get an error message

I was originally using Windows XP but, I had to completely restart my computer which is a E-machine T2542. It originally came with Home Edition, so thats what it had after it rebooted. So i tried to Upgrade to Windows XP and i get this error message.

An error occurred coping file ac50ktmf.sys to C\$WIN_NT$.~BT\ac50ktmf.sys the file is missing Contact your system administrator

I have searched for answers for this online but, even when i put just the word ac50ktmf.sys in google i get nothing. PLEASE HELP i miss XP

There's no such thing as "Windows XP". Windows XP is a general term. Microsoft has....Windows XP Editions

Home Edition

Professional Edition

Media Center Edition

Tablet PC Edition

Professional x64 Edition

Which one "exactly" are you refering to???

I assume you've chosen to do an "Upgrade (recommended)" installation, rather than a clean installation?

If so, I'd suggest doing a "Clean" installation, reformatting your drive and starting afresh with XP Pro. This would delete any data files you might have, music, pics etc, so copy them to another drive or partition first.

Make sure you've got your driver disk handy to reinstall them once the new installation has completed.
