Cool

Why don't you go and buy a LEGAL copy and then you won't have these problems....

It seems that he is trying to say that he owns a legal copy of XP. You can try contacting Microsoft?

Cool

leceur..Sorry, but I diagree with you on that point.

These discussions should be stopped by the moderators of this board. I no one gave help to these people with pirated software, their requests would disappear from this board.

Most of the problems folks have with SP1 are a direct result of using pirated or corprorate copies of XP and some problems are from using third party software IE: BootXP and StyleXP. BootXP and StyleXP can be worked around and is addressed in M$ knowledge base Q324101.

The other involves hacking the serial number of the pirated software so you can install SP1.

I have no simpathy for these cheap ***holes who steal the OS!!

shadow_man:
i would ALMOST agree with you... but lets face it 1 out of 2 people have the pirated version of any software. u can't get rid of it no matter what you say so if your not going to help or don't care for people who use pirated software. don't look in these threads stick to what floats your boat

I guess that Shadow is right...this kind of discussion NEED to be stopped....

Im a member of others Forums all around the world and they (moderators) do not permit post with informations about: pirated softwares, cracks and serial numbers...

shadow_man and Skyconnect Girl are right. We here at SoftwareTipsandTricks, do not tolerate any kind of Warez posted on the forums.

Windows XP costs $99 after that you need not worry about anything (problems in updates, SP1 not installing etc...)

Angry

i'm getting an error too, but my only says "Service Pack 1 Setup canceled." anyone have any ideas as to why? it seems to bring up this 'Ok' box after about 5 secs of starting the update.exe in the self-extracting cab. it doesn't matter what screen of the install i'm at either.

thanks

{edit}
this is a legit copy, too
