Access denied - file encypted

Right, where to start. Okay......
Firstly I had WinXp installed on my PC - I had some banking documents I wanted to keep secure so I encypted them.

Then I brought a new drive...
I installed XP on my new drive and removed XP from my old drive (appart from the encypted files).
Now, when I try and access my files on the second drive, I get the error - Access Denied, file read only or encypted.

Now I've given rights to access these files, but the error still occurs. Is there anyway I can access these files again? Hope someone out there can help

You are probably out of luck.

You would the exact user who encrypted the files to be able to remove the encryption from said files.

When a user encrypts files/folders a key is made, and unless you backed up that key, you are probably out of luck.

There MIGHT be a 3rd party program out there to break it, try Google Groups.

Has suspected it might be tied in with a registry value - oh well, better go break the new to my mate!
