desktop background and screensaver.

my desktop background picture is a a "WARNING! SPYWARE DETECTED ON YOUR COMPUTER install antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer".
i cant change my desktop background or screensaver. those tabs are removed from the display settings in the control panel. my screensaver is stuck on what looks like my computer restarting but its just the screensaver making it look like it. i cleaned all the viruses and spyware but i still cant change my desktop background or screensaver. those options are still obsolete. how can i get them back?

Hi, what programs did you use to clean your PC? I would say you are still infected.
Try this http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/ it is a free online virus scan
Download and install superanti-spyware update and run a full scan http://www.superantispyware.com/
Last download Malware bytes and run a quick scan http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Post any threat removals e.g. name.

Sounds like a Spy Sheriff infection.

Run Monty's suggestions but, if they don't work, post the information he asked for PLUS a HijackThis log so we can investigate further.

Malware can be designed to target administrator accounts. If you are still having trouble on ANY of the accounts you must assume you are still infected. Download and scan with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, as per Monty's advice, and report back if you continue to experience problems.
