Question Crazy floppy

Hi,

I have installed XP as my OS. Since then something tries to check my floppy drive all the time. Like every few minutes. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on that?

that problem is prob. not caused by xp, it is usually caused by taking out a floppy. I would keep a floppy in the drive and still see if it makes that noise, if not i would definitly call your local computer tech or do a search on google!

Did you disable "floppy drive search" in bios?

ahh, who needs a floppy anyways? dell will no longer install (unless requested) floppy drives. whoa! out with the old, in with the new.
but honestly, when is the last time any of you used your floppy? sure you almost can't get along without it for flashing your BIOS, or when you are trying to test your hard drive for a major failure, but other than that, it is almost worthless.
