AOL problem with internet explorer

whenever i turn on the laptop AOL automatically logs in.then when i try to open up an internet explorer page it automatically flicks back to the AOL page so it makes it impossible to surf the net using internet explorer this has only just started to happen has anyone got any ideas how i can resolve this problem
