XP Wireless Lan browser problems

OK odd one this!

I have two pcs at home running a broadband connection that is shared by wireless lan.

Each pc has open access to each other.

Now when I browse the pc connected to the modem there is no issue.

When I browse the web using the pc that connects trhough the host pc (with modem) I cannot view certain web pages.

There are no web restricitons or accessibility options set on either pc and the sites I cannot browse range from Google, Corporate sites, aol and home pages etc.

Nothing dubvious at all.

This is driving me mad - someone please help!

Disable/uninstall any firewalls, including the Windows XP firewall; and then test.

Clear your cookies and temporary internet files, and then test.

Go to Start/Run and type 'regsvr32 softpub.dll'
Hit OK and make sure it is successful, then reboot and test.

What kind of internet connection is it?

Thanks

I will give that a try.

What do you mean by - what type of internet connection?

It's a home account where the host computer connects via broadband. Is that waht you meant?

THANK YOU!

No I have no idea why but the cache clering has worked - after years in this business you'd have thought I'd have tried that!?

I guess it was taking too long to find itmes in my cache and was timing out?

Thanks again x

How’s your network setup at home do you have a Router or do one of the PC’s have a dual NIC?

You mentioned a wireless LAN. I’m guessing you have a router involved. Is the Router setup with DHCP? Is the DHCP enabled?

Can you ping any outside IP Addresses? If you can’t make sure the default gateway is setup. Do an IPCONFIG (WinNT/2000/XP) or WINIPCFG (Win9x). Can it obtain an IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway?

I connect my pc through another which is connected to our broadband modem.

I have no idea about DCHP although I am pretty sure it is enabled.

Ping etc

I can ping most sites using cmd.

How do I do the IPCONFIG?

I have found a small program on my system but it opens and closes before I get a chance to see what has happened?
