Advice for pruning System32 folder
I have my WinXP installed on a 2.5GB partition. With time, the System32 folder has grown to 1.3 GB (it started as abt 700-800 MB, if i rmbr correctly), leving very little free space. The biggest component is the DLL cache (~900MB). I check all this with Glary Utilities Disk Analysis util.
Is there any program to tell the source/origin of each file in the System folder? I am sure many of the Dll's belong to software that i may have used & uninstalled way back, leaving the dll's behind.
If it is possible to recognize the source of a file and delete the unwanted ones (erring on the side of caution, while deleting!), it would save me the task of having to repartition and reinstall the OS.
Thanks in advance for comments/suggestions.
