No sound, no audio device, also monitor set to default and

please help me

no sound & no audio devices showing in control panel or anywhere!!

have tried installing sis drivers, but nothings working.

also it seems i cant change resolution on my new DELL 1703fp 17" monitor, if i try to, it says

1:Analog input: cannot disply this video mode......








Please help as it been going on forever and I am ready to chuck the Pc in the trash

New Sound card perhaps

You may need a new soundcard but if it is in working order then scan your computer for any trojans or virus or whatever to make sure that your settings were NOT tampered with

Hi

Its not a trojan as I had the same problem a year ago when i last had to reformat my pc, but fixed it, but cant remember how I did it!!!

this happened after a fresh format of XP I did the other week.

Bookworm have you got any ideas?

I don't have an answer for this question sorry... I hope you got it figured out but what do you expect from a 14 year old?
